"So have you enjoyed your night so far (y/n)?", your boyfriend Alfred asked as he held your hand gently in his larger one, his warmth spreading through your palm and fingers. With a smile you looked up at him, your (e/c) eyes sparkling. "Yes, I have", you said as he grinned and let out a laugh. "Awesome dudette!, but there's one more thing I want to do", he said and gently tugged your hand. "Where are we going?", you asked but didn't need an answer as a moment later you recognized the small park where you two had first met.
    Flashback
You sat under a small oak tree on a blanket, cross legged with your textbooks sitting in a pile next to you and a pencil in your hand. Tapping the eraser lightly against your lips you studied the page in front of you, struggling slightly as you tried to figure out the answer. You were so engrossed in it that you didn't see the football come flying out of nowhere or the warning shout until it crashed into your books, sending paper in all directions.
You jumped up angrily and yelled "Hey!" "Oh crap, I'm so sorry dudette!", a voice came from behind you, the sound of running footsteps approached as you struggled to catch your spilled papers before they could be snatched away by the wind. Turning you were about to release your full fury onto the poor person until you caught a full glimpse of him. Bright blue eyes peered out from behind a pair of steel frames, the sunlight making the lenses glint slightly. Golden blond hair sat in a messy yet attractive style atop his head, a lone strand defying gravity in a cowlick. Underneath his well worn brown bomber jacket he wore a superman tshirt and a pair of plain blue jeans along with simple sneakers.
All in all he was very attractive and instead of yelling at him you found yourself blushing faintly and lowering your gaze. You were still slightly angry because you'd had your papers organized in such a way that now it would take forever to redo. But all of your anger disappeared as his concerned voice broke you out of your thoughts. "Are you alright dudette, I didn't hit you did I?" Slowly you turned to meet his gaze, a blush still evident on your face.
"Ah uh no I'm fine, thanks", you said quietly and you started slightly when you felt his hand clap you on your shoulder. "Cool dudette!, listen how about I help you reorganize your papers", he said and you looked up at him in surprise. "W-what?", you stuttered and he let out a laugh, his warm hand still resting on your shoulder. "Hey what kind of hero would I be if I didn't help the damsel in distress", he said proudly and you couldn't help but giggle a little. He was so childish but in a way that you found slightly adorable.
"Well okay, but there's a certain way I had them so it might take a while", you said as you sat back down. He grinned at you. "The hero always makes time for the pretty lady!", he exclaimed sending a vibrant blush shooting across your features but thankfully he didn't see it as he turned to grab some of the papers, plopping himself down next to you on the blanket. "Oh by the way my names Alfred, Alfred F. Jones; the F stands for freedom!", he proclaimed proudly and you giggled again.
"(Fn) (ln)", you responded and he grinned. "(Y/n), that's a pretty cool name!", he said and you smiled at him, all previous anger completely gone as the two of you spent the next half hour sorting your papers back to their original state and just chatting about random topics, everything from politics (which he surprisingly knew a ton about) to comics and who your favorite superheroes were. His was naturally Superman, ( as if the shirt hadn't given it away) and yours was (favorite superhero), a character that he said was also one of his much to your surprise.
You two got to talking about different things like sports and he talked about how he liked to play baseball and football, having played for most of his time in high school and even in college a little. You had explained to him how you did (sport name) and he had been impressed. As the sun began to set you and him realized just how late it had gotten, so caught up in your conversation that you hadn't even realized the time.
As he helped you pack up your stuff he had put his hands in the large pockets of his jacket and looked at you, a surprising blush crossing his face. You had asked him if something was wrong but he had vehemently shaken his head, eyes wide and exclaimed how it was the opposite. He had then bashfully admitted that he was surprised and really happy that he'd found someone to talk to about comics and even politics, and that most of his friends found those kinds of topics boring and would just mostly talk about girls.
He had said that he thought you were a "pretty cool dudette", and as you blushed he had as well. As you were getting ready to leave he had suddenly stopped you, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly and blushing as he admitted that he had thrown the football on purpose but that he was actually really sorry as he hadn't meant for it to hit your papers or anything, it had meant to just hit the ground beside you. You had asked him why and he had said that he wanted to use it as a way to get your attention and start a conversation with you as he was too shy to come over and ask face to face.
He had then asked if there was any way the two of you could maybe go and see a movie over the weekend or something and you had called him an idiot, making him deflate slightly but then as you laughed and gave him your number he perked right back up and wrapped an arm around your shoulder as he walked you back to your car. From there your relationship had snowballed until it got to where it was today, three years later. You had graduated college and moved in with him and his fellow roommates in a rather large house that they all split rent on.
He had introduced you too his brother, a shy Canadian boy named Mathew and a few of his friends, a prim and proper British gentleman named Arthur, a suave Frenchman named Francis, a Chinese boy named Yao and an intimidating Russian boy named Ivan (who actually wasn't bad once you got to know him despite the aura he gave off).
He had also introduced his neighbors, another group of friends consisting of a German boy named Ludwig, a ditzy Italian named Feliciano and a quiet Japanese boy who just so happened to be Yao's brother named Kiku. They had all accepted your rather quickly into their weird family and you grew to love them all, their personalities and cultures so different from one another yet they all acted like brothers. When you had asked your boyfriend about their vast nationalities he had explained that they had all gone to the same college which was one of the only colleges in the world with so many different cultures and classes offered.
Looking back now you grinned as Alfred led you through the park. Your relationship had endured a few rocky bumps here and there but they were always things you'd both bounce back from, along with the help and support of your wonderful friends.
Finally you were pulled from your thoughts as Alfred stopped. Looking around you immediately recognized the very same oak from all those years ago. "Do you remember this place?", he asked and you nodded with a smile on your face.
As he held your hand in his he turned and looked down at you, clasping your hands tighter in his as he suddenly seemed to become nervous. "(Y/n), do you remember what you called me that day?", he asked and you laughed, easily answering. "Yes I do, I called you an idiot", you said with a smile and he grinned. "And I was an idiot but that idiot managed to get your number and get me to where I am today, by the side of a beautiful and wonderful girl", he said as his bright baby blues shined.
A blush spread across your cheeks as he continued. "And I know I'm still an idiot but this idiot has a very important question for you", he said and your hands came to your mouth in shock as he dropped to one knee, pulling a small velvet box from his pocket. "Will you allow me the privilege of becoming your idiot forever by becoming my wife?", he asked as he opened it, revealing a stunning diamond ring. Tears sprang to your eyes as you gasped.
"oh Alfred!", you cried out as you threw your arms around him, tackling him in a football player worthy tackle (that he had pointed out later) and knocking him to the ground. "Yes yes yes!", you cried excitedly as you buried your face into his chest. He grinned and sat up slowly, taking your hand and gently sliding the ring down onto the proper finger. Then he gently cupped your face, bringing his lips to yours in one of the most gentle and passionate kisses you've ever experienced, his blinding love shining through.
"You've just made this idiot the happiest man in the world", he whispered as he helped you to your feet. "And your my idiot forever now", you responded as he enveloped you in his strong arms. And in the fading light as the two of you shared another passionate kiss the last rays of sunlight caught your ring, the beautiful diamonds glittering and shining in the dying light, a sign of a promise made and a sign that it would never be broken.
     ~Extended ending~
In the bushes about twenty feet away the sobs of a Frenchman could suddenly be heard. "You bloody git!, stop crying so loud, you're going to give us away!", an irritated British accent rang out. "I can't 'elp it mon ami, that vas absolutely beau!", he said as he dabbed his eyes with a lacy hanky. "Ve~ Ludwig are you-a crying?" "N-nein I simply have somezhing in mein eye!" "I actuarry managed to get a picture of it", came a quiet Japanese voice. "Aww it was so kawaii aru!"
"I'm happy for them eh." "They make a cute couple da?" And as you and Alfred stared at the bushes where the sounds of sobs and voices could be heard you both grinned, before lacing fingers and quietly exiting the park, intent on beating them back to the house and taking first dibs on the tv. And as the sun finally set, bringing the end to the day you smiled because now you realized that when it rose the next time it would be to a new day, and a new day to you too as you began the new chapter in your life, with Alfred and the others right beside you. And in that moment you realized, feeling the ring against your finger, that you wouldn't have it any other way.

Just a cute dabble I came up with between the reader and Alfred. I own nothing but the story, the character belong to their rightful owner and you now belong to Alfred
